Last day on duty...

This is quite a long post so i suggest that you guys find a relaxing chair and one of my fave snacks.. chips!

Last Friday evening, we were told that the ASEAN Summit was postponed because of the typhoon that was gonna hit our country. We were both happy and scared. Happy because that would mean our shifts will end earlier than expected. Scared because, postponing the Summit would mean classes might resume. haaaayyy...

On Saturday morning we were told to go to our usual rounds.... We waited for a while for the buses though because, the drivers were told that their services would no longer be needed. it took a while before they were told that yesterday would be our last day. Our last round was really sad. In every hotel that we went to, the media people were either going back home, had their own service, or just didn't want to go to CICC. (sigh..)..This postponement stuff is REAAAALLLYYY gonna take a lot from our country. People are starting to criticize the governments decision and everything... A lot of people kept asking me what would happen now....It was really quite annoying... i mean, how should i know?.. I'm just a liaison officer...I don't know the specifics...0_o....Also the rain and wind was SOOOOO awfully cold!!!...

Well back to my day, when were done with two rounds tatay (we call our head "tatay" dad, pops, father or pappy in English because he's is super kind and really is a father to us..) asked if were there any people who needed our services. When we told him there was none, he told us to stay put and rest.. We stayed at CICC talking and chatting until lunch time. We started to look for our lunch packs but there were none!.. The lunch services were no longer available. We were about to complain when we were told that the government prepared a buffet for all of us! woohooo! talk about good food!.. While we were eating.. We remembered the drivers.. What were they eating?!.. when we asked tatay, he said that they were not included in the food count that day..We were all sad when we heard this, tatay was even a bit mad. Who wouldn't be, those guys (the drivers) offered their services with no shifting from 7 am to ten pm, and they aren't even offered good food?..If it was up to tatay and us, they would have eaten with us!.. but like i said, what can we do? Were just liaison officers...even tatay has no say in it.. The only thing that we could was offer our snacks to them.. It's a good thing they understood..sorry kuya!!

After lunch, I went on 1 more round because somebody was waiting at Midtown hotel. My buddies were with me so it wasn't so lonely.. hehehehe...When we came back we attended a meeting for all liaison officers. We talked about our allowances, stuff , AND the inefficiency of some volunteers. We were also told that there will be a lot of us who will be pulled out because of that. yada yada yada... nothing excited happened after that...

Later we finally got our certificates and allowances!!! yehey!! hehehe...but there's still one thing that made our committee sooo happy. Tatay and our two other heads, decided to make our last day a sad one for them. Asking why?...They decided to treat us to a night out!!!.. yipeee!!.. they donated 500 each (that's why it was sad for them..) We secretly decided too, to donate 100 each so we could have a blast...so after we attended a cocktail and the dinner buffet (Their last treat for us before we all said goodbye..), We went to a comedy bar!! hahaha...Two of my buddies weren't able to tag along coz of their parents and BF...

I texted my bro that i would be home late and decided to enjoy the night.... The show was hilarious!!!... when we entered the bar, we already caught the eyes of the performers.. they read our certificates out loud and joked bout our uniforms and the summit! hahahaha.. One of my buddies got dragged onstage because of us and wheeew!.. twas a good thing he wasn't mad!! hahahaha.....we drank (for me just a Cali) and ate (peanuts and sisig)... After our hectic schedules it was great to laugh our hearts out!... If you were there I'm sure you would have laughed with us!.. hehehe

I didn't finish the show though.. it was already 1 am and my mom was looking for me... She's an island away but still wouldn't go to sleep till i got home.. hahay mama oi. hehehe..thanks for worrying.. love yah!... My bro was also soooo mad coz he didn't receive my messages.. his phone was off the whole day coz i brought the charger with me!... oh man!...I decided to keep quiet till he cooled down... it was a really good idea... hehehehe... anyway.. i was sooo happy that night.. it was actually my first time to be invited to a place like that.. I was treated like one of them.. it feels so great to be part of the group and not get treated as a child!!...hehehehe....

It seems God doesn't only send the friends you want, but also the friends you need. they were all my ate's and kuya's but they treated me like one of them. i also learned a lot of things from them... what they are, i won't say hehehe.. they are not naughty or bad things. it's just that, sometimes when i learn something great i like to keep it to myself and just absorb it. When it finally sinks in, that's when i decide to let it out.
