Hello waterworld?..

For years, we have heard of the catastrophic effects that global warming will cause, if we won't do something about it. For years, we have seen movies showing the end of the world, an evironmental apocalypse, a great armageddon. Remember the movie The Day After Tomorrow? How bout The Water WOrld?....What if that day was to come in our time?.... What will we do?...Will we have a good, or bad ending?.......or most importantly, Will we live?......

The other day my friends and i started to talk about the awful weather we're having. Lately we have been having rain, cold weather, then sunlight again , then after a while we're back to shivering in our blankets. The weather has been too cold to call normal (i say this beacause i live in the Philippines. Our weather is supposedly warm this time of the year). after a while we started talking about the movie The Day After Tommorow. I was teasing teasing them that maybe we'd suddenly freeze or get wiped out overnight, when one of them told me that it was already happening to one country. (hmmph i reeaaally should listen to the news more often)

I thought they were just pulling my leg, but when i saw their serious faces i knew it had to be true. They told me the melting polar ice caps have already increased the water levels enough to sink an island near the equator. I forgot it's name, but they said it was the first country that sees the sunlight. They are already experiencing weird stuff and are probably gonna have to be evacuated soon. Sad huh?.... I never thought the damage to our environment has gone this far. After that, they told me our island is next. They also said that in 20 years, give or take, we'll start swimming with the fishes. Dang it. I don't know how to swim.

If this really gets worst, will we be facing a water world?.... I wonder if we'll grow gils?..or fins?.... hehehe.... I know this is a pretty serious issue that we're facing, but hey..... instead of worrying too much i'd rather look at the bright side. We won't have to worry about the increasing prices of gas/oil, we won't have to pay the rent the list goes on and on.....and ohhhh...we might even evolve to a different specie!.. hahaha joke!

I don't want to worry bout this just yet. But if the time comes that i can no longer run on land, climb on trees or play with my dogs, I'll have to say i'm doomed. Remeber how hard life was for the people in the movie WATERWORLD?.... yep. we're doomed.

I really love the outdoors but i'm not a big fan of water sports. You never know what's lurking under your feet......
